Day 6 - 23:00

Change of plan, having cycled all day in temperatures of around 102 Dan is feeling quite tired... He's just gone past Time Station 26, Maize (1576.3 miles), the plan was to push to El Dorado but they're stopping 30 miles short for the night to rehydrate properly and enable Dan to do more cycling in the early morning as temperatures are forecast to remain high for the next few days.

hey Dan, over half way - totally fantastic! Does that mean it's all downhill from here? I know you have a great crew behind you, and there are a huge number of others like us watching your progress from a distance and cheering you on with every pedal stroke. We girls will be pushing out a mean 20miles tomorrow morning in George Bush park before forcing down at least one strong latte. Think of us if you need inspiration.....

You are doing phenomenally well!

Just to reinforce the point about temperatures - NPR this morning said there was a possibility of triple digit (and record) temperatures in the Houston area. How you manage the heat over the next few days will be crucial.

Keep trucking - looking at the number of DNFs it looks like you are doing a classic rerun of the hare and the tortoise!

Looks like you've arrived at Yates - good deal!

Any idea why the official RAAM site is so far behind with the Daniel Rudge stats?

Keep hydrating: remember only mad dogs and Englishmen.......
